When you go away don’t take the stress of leaving your home with you. Cambridge Property Management of Southwest Florida is pleased to announce that we now offer Home Watch services so you can have a peace of mind while you are away from your Florida home.
As summer approaches, many local snowbirds will make their yearly migration back up north for the warm season, leaving their Florida houses and condos unoccupied. If you are one of them, leaving the winter nest may be a familiar ritual by now. But for others, the process will be a new one, and now is the time to make sure your home will be secure and looked after during your time away.
Due to the intense heat and humidity levels in the summer in Florida the risk factor for unoccupied homes increases.
You don’t want to be one of the unlucky ones who comes home after a nice summer away and discovers that your winter home is damaged. Maybe a pipe bursts and your home gets flooded causing extensive damage or your air conditioner quits working and mold starts growing throughout the house as a direct consequence. Another common problem is when the pool service doesn’t show up like they are supposed to and suddenly the water level is low and the pump breaks. Or you forgot to get rid of those bananas lying on the counter and suddenly you’re inundated with bugs. All these scenarios are common and you don’t want to fall victim to them as it is costly to repair and easy to avoid.
Many, many things can happen, therefore, it’s a good idea to consider contracting a home watch company like Cambridge to help protect your investment.
Inspections can be done on a weekly, bi-weekly or monthly schedule.
Whether you are away for a week or several months at a time we will provide you with the following services:
Interior ceilings and walls monitored for roof and window leaks, Air conditioner systems inspected and filter replacement, (Owner must provide filters prior to departure) Plumbing in kitchen and bathrooms areas monitored for leaks,
Vehicles started,
Exterior Inspection,
Meet with Vendor to insure installation of Hurricane Shutters is completed in a timely manor in the
event of a hurricane warning, (Owner must arrange for their own vendor to install shutters or if preferred we
have Vendors available, however, Vendor installation charge will be an additional cost paid for directly by owner)
Watering of Plants, (If your on the once a month plan its probably best to have a friend or relative take care of the
plants at their home as once a month watering wont be enough to keep the plants alive)
Mail and package collection.
(If you would like mail sent to another location we will be happy to do so for you,
however, owner will be responsible for all USPS fees)For additional charges but upon your request we will:
Stock your refrigerator with groceries of your choice before your return,
House Cleaning,
Provide transportation to and from Fort Myers International airport,
Our highly trained and motivated staff will perform all requested inspections. If any issues may arise, our office will contact you prior to authorizing repairs. If it is an emergency repair such as a water leak we request permission in writing on our application giving us the ability to go ahead and authorize such immediate repairs. A checklist and pictures of any concerns will be provided after each inspection via email. If Home Watch is not an option for you, you should still prepare your home before leaving for the unexpected. As a convenience we at Cambridge have designed a check list for you to follow to better secure your home prior to departure.
